M&M's — Mixtape
A make-your-own-track music kiosk in the M&M's flagship stores
M&M's wanted to turn a store visit into something you make, not just something you buy. We built "Mixtape" — an interactive music studio where fans produce their own tasty track.
The interface is a step sequencer with a twist: tap the grid to drop notes — each one a tiny M&M — then switch between the characters to change the sound, layer in drums, and save the beat you've made. It's a music toy anyone can pick up in seconds, with the brand built into every note.
Each M&M is its own instrument. Pick a character, lay down a line, stack them up.






The experience ran as a kiosk in the M&M's stores in New York and London, putting a playful, hands-on music studio right on the shop floor. We built the interactive app; Kubik handled the in-store kiosk environment so it sat naturally inside the retail space.
